Overview

Our client, Flikshop, helps incarcerated people and returning citizens build tech literacy with educational resources and community support.

The ongoing learning management system (LMS) project is a software installed on tablets for correctional facilities such as federal prisons.

In this sprint, we designed a resume building flow to help users transform their learning outcome into a job resume for career use.

<aside> 🇺🇸 There are nearly 2M Individuals in prison or jail in the United States, 240,000+ youth are detained, incarcerated, or both in a year.

Long Term Business Goal

Design and Prototype ****Flikshop.Me, a tablet based learning management system, to sale to correctional facilities or tablet manufacturers, so incarcerated population can access Flikshop’s educational resources through provided tablets.

Short Term Goal:

Design features that supports individuals to transform their learning accomplishment to employment strengths.

Background: Pressing needs from the incarcerated population

According to U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics, approximately 600,000 people are released from state and federal prisons annually, with another 9 million people cycled through local jails (Reentry | CDC Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (.gov).
